“Hardball” host Chris Matthews has been asked to emcee the Peace Corps’ 50th anniversary gala, hosted by the National Peace Corps Association, at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center on Sept. 24. Matthews was a Peace Corps volunteer in Swaziland and will help host more than 900 expected guests at the event, which is expected to be the largest gala to honor the Peace Corps’ 50th anniversary.
