Washingtonian magazine released its list of the 100 Most Powerful Women in Washington and the featured femmes range from the likes of congressional power players like Nancy Pelosi, D.C. Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton and Rep. Donna Edwards, D-Md., to Supreme Court Justices Elena Kagan and Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Other notables on the list include D.C. Public Schools Chancellor Kaya Henderson and former Ambassador Nancy Brinker, founder and CEO of Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

When Yeas & Nays asked Brinker how she felt about being chosen for the list, she said she was humbled.

“As flattered as I am to receive this recognition, this is really a testament to the millions of women and men, many of them breast cancer survivors, who have helped grow Susan G. Komen and the breast cancer movement. In just three decades, we’ve made incredible progress against this disease, with far more to do, and we’ll continue the fight until suffering from this disease has ended.”
