Trump rips Cruz as ‘sleazy’

Donald Trump may be trying to reignite a fight between Ted Cruz and Ben Carson, after calling the Texas senator a “sleaze” for what he did to the retired neurosurgeon.

Trump retweeted a Twitter user Thursday night who said “Ted Cruz is the definition of sleaze. Just ask Ben Carson.”

Trump was hinting at an incident that happened Feb. 1 at the Iowa caucuses when Cruz team members, who had heard on Twitter and CNN than Carson was suspending his campaign, told Republicans at the polls that choosing Carson would be a waste and they should instead pledge support to Cruz, who shares Carson’s evangelical beliefs.

The Republican front-runner has gone after Cruz numerous times on Twitter over the past few days. Earlier Thursday, Trump bashed Cruz’s campaign team, claiming they were “back to doing very sleazy and dishonest pushpolls” on him.

Trump won the New Hampshire primary by a 35 percent landslide and is ranked No. 1 in the Washington Examiner Presidential Power Rankings.
