Republican front-runner Donald Trump will return to NBC entertainment this weekend to host the Nov. 7 episode of Saturday Night Live, the media giant announced Tuesday afternoon.
This will mark the second time that the real estate mogul, who formerly appeared as the star of NBC’s The Apprentice, has hosted on the network’s popular comedy show. The last time Trump was the master of ceremonies for the show was more than 10 years ago, on April 3, 2004.
“Trump has emerged as the biggest star of the upcoming presidential election, drawing big ratings for his appearances,” Deadline reported. “He also has been a favorite target for late-night comedy shows, including SNL, which kicked off its 41st season with a cold open featuring the real estate mogul, portrayed by Taran Killam.”
Trump currently leads the entire GOP 2016 presidential by a sizable margin, according to Real Clear Politics’ polling average.
He is followed in the polls by retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson.
