It’s the little dive bar that could. Beloved Capitol Hill watering hole Tune Inn will be opening its doors once more this week, after a fire extensively damaged the bar’s interior in June. While the bar was closed, the Friends of Tune Inn raised almost $40,000 at an event in July so that the out-of-work staff could still get a paycheck. On Sunday from 10 a.m. to noon, the bar is giving back to those who saved it, holding a special thank you event for the D.C. Fire Department fire fighters who responded to the call and stopped the Tune Inn from burning down completely, according to a press release from the establishment. The Tune Inn will officially reopen Friday at 8 a.m.
