After Congress finally came to an agreement on the budget, President Obama (sporting gray chinos and a casual black jacket) made a surprise visit to the Lincoln Memorial on Saturday afternoon, where he shook hands and visited with tourists. “Because Congress was able to settle its differences, that’s why this place is open today and everybody’s able to enjoy their visit,” Obama told the crowd.
He went on to say that he hopes to see cooperation going forward. “This is what America is all about — everybody from different places enjoying those things that bind us together.”
