President Obama reassured Americans that he would continue to play basketball even after Friday’s elbow incident, which landed POTUS with 12 stitches to the lip. “Let me begin by pointing out that although Washington is supposed to be a town of sharp elbows, it’s getting a little carried away,” Obama said Monday, lightening the mood before announcing a federal employee pay freeze. He mentioned he was given a clean bill of health and took to the courts two days after the accident.

“In fact, I played yesterday with Sasha and Malia and they took it easy on me because they were feeling pity,” he said.
