There’s so much excitement surrounding the D.C. filming of “Transformers 3” that casting director Betsy Royall’s inbox is filling up.

The D.C. Office of Motion Picture and Television Development posted a casting call for the movie on its Web site and several thousand Washingtonians answered the call. The enthusiasm is great, but Royall is urging Washingtonians to sit tight.

“We’re not looking for anything yet,” she told Yeas & Nays.

For those who really want a role, Royall will post specific looks the film will need on her Web site, betsycoaching.com, closer to filming. The wannabe actors who answer those calls will be the ones who get cast.

Details surrounding the filming of “Transformers 3” in Washington still are being worked out. Most of the filming likely will happen the last week of September or the first week of October.
