In the past week Sen. Scott Brown, R-Mass., has been sharing a lot of anecdotes from his childhood in preparation for the release of his first book. He has discussed being sexually abused by a camp counselor and being a serial shoplifter as a teen. On Tuesday morning he offered some heartfelt advice to another troubled young person — actress Lindsay Lohan.
“I think about her a lot,” Brown began, reminiscing about seeing her as a young, bright star in the movie “The Parent Trap.” “You just want to kinda go out and just talk to her and say, you know, you can do better and be better,” he told Amy Holmes on the syndicated radio program “America’s Morning News.”

The Massachusetts senator encouraged Lohan to get “real guidance” from people who don’t care about making headlines or money. “I kinda look at her like almost I would say that same thing to my daughter,” Brown said. “So, I guess that reflects my age.”
Brown’s memoir “Against All Odds” went on sale this week.
