Former congressman Anthony Weiner has found at least one way to weather the hurricane heading up the coast this weekend to New York, having swept his pregnant wife, Huma Abedin, to Italy for a “babymoon” getaway. The New York Post reports that the couple are living it up in Positano at the historic Le Sirenuse resort overlooking the Amalfi Coast – right near the spot where Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries are vacationing. The oceanfront hideaway boasts 59 luxurious rooms costing anywhere from $719 to $4,889 a night, and though no one’s sure what suite they’re staying in, sources spotted the couple enjoying dinner at the hotel’s restaurant, La Sponda, with a few other couples which followed them from the Champagne and oyster bar to the main dining room downstairs.
Both Weiner and Abedin have been avoiding the press since the New York representative’s resignation from Congress – after he was caught sending lewd photographs of himself to women on the internet. At the time it was also reported that Abedin — who’s a senior advisor to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton — is expecting the couple’s first child, which is due on New Year’s Eve.
