Newt boots Pelosi
So much for there being some sort of code of respect between fellow House speakers…
Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich sounded off on current Speaker Nancy Pelosi Tuesday during remarks at the National Press Club.
Pelosi’s 11th hour speech before the bailout vote? “Sadly inappropriate, very partisan and it embittered many people.”
“It was a deliberate, San Franciscan, extremely liberal speech,” Gingrich continued, concluding that liberal Democrats “must be happy because now there’s a greater chance for a more socialist America than ever before.”
Thank goodness, however, for the Jewish holiday on Tuesday, said Gingrich. “It’ll give Congress time to think … a radical standard,” he joked.
