Vogue falls in love with Huntsman

He may not be a front-runner, but the Vogue profile of former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman paints him as a wundercandidate — a moderate Republican who is “smooth,” “cosmopolitan” and “engaged.” His family is also part of the lovefest. “This telegenic, multicultural family may be the candidate’s biggest asset as he tries to capture his party’s attention,” Vogue’s Jacob Weisberg writes. While Weisberg doesn’t delve too deeply into the political realities or spend time on the reported dysfunction of the campaign, he does ask this: “You wonder: Why would these nice, mentally healthy people want to spend the next year or more traipsing through the fever swamps of American politics?” The full profile appears in Vogue’s September issue.
