Rick Santorum is set to announce Wednesday afternoon that he will seek the 2016 GOP presidential nomination.
As expected, the former Republican senator from Pennsylvania will reveal his presidential intentions at an event in Cabot, Pa. Santorum told Fox News’ Greta van Susteren in early May he would announce the decision near his childhood home.
Santorum will then sit down with ABC News’ George Stephanopoulous after the event for an interview.

Santorum, 57, served in the Senate from 1995-2007. He also ran for the 2012 GOP presidential nomination, dropping out in favor of eventual nominee Mitt Romney, after providing an unexpectedly strong challenge.
Santorum has already been testing the waters.
According to the RealClearPolitics polling average, Santorum polls tenth in a crowded field with 2.3 percentage points.
