Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) pulled a new ad criticizing his presidential rival Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), after it was discovered that one of the actresses in the commercial is a porn star.
Buzzfeed reported that the ad, which mocks an AA style meeting where conservatives discuss how they feel Rubio had lied to and betrayed on immigration reform, featured adult film actress Amy Lindsay.

She had appeared in several softcore porn films, including Erotic Confessions,Carnal Wishes, Secrets of a Chambermaid, and Insatiable Desires.
Cruz spokesman Rick Tyler told BuzzFeed News in a statement that the campaign is taking down the ad after it discovered Lindsay’s past film credits.
“The actress responded to an open casting call,” Tyler said in the statement She passed her audition and got the job. Unfortunately, she was not vetted by the production company. Had the campaign known of her full filmography, we obviously would not have let her appear in the ad.”
Lindsay was outraged and told Buzzfeed News on a phone interview that she was a Christian conservative and a Republican who had appeared in both softcore porn and mainstream productions like Star Trek: Voyager and Descendant.
She said her appearance in a Cruz ad could be “cool,” because it was so different.
“In a cool way, then hey, then it’s not just some old, white Christian bigot that people want to say, ‘It could be, maybe, a cool kind of open-minded woman like me,’” she said to Buzzfeed.
The actress also insisted that the production company did know about her entire filmography including the adult films.
Lindsay said on Twitter that she was disappointed by Cruz’s decision to pull the ad and told Buzzfeed News that she is now considering voting for Donald Trump.
