CNN made digital history this week, conducting the first-ever full interview with a lawmaker over Snapchat by snapping with Kentucky Senator Rand Paul.
Paul answered questions on everything from drone policy to 2016. On drones, he quipped, “Drones should only be used according to the Constitution. But if they fly over my house, they better beware because I’ve got a shotgun.”
On his presidential ambitions, Paul went for a dig at the Secret Service: “Maybe, but I think they may have to…guard the fence a little bit better than they’ve been doing lately.”
And no Paul interview would be complete without one of his signature disses of his potential 2016 rivals. Paul called Hillary Clinton’s massive speaking fees “obscene,” and then deadpanned, “I guess she can pay her chauffeur well now.”
CNN chose their first lawmaker wisely: Paul is a Snapchat vet by now, having joined last Summer. And because he’s Rand Paul, one of his first messages was an NSA butt joke.
