It looks like Joan Rivers is trying to get America to love her again after making strange comments about Michelle Obama and walking out of a CNN interview.
The comedian appeared on “The Late Show” Tuesday and discussed her botched appearance on CNN. After admitting to David Letterman that she didn’t even know the name of the woman interviewing her (Fredricka Whitfield), she called the CNN reporter “very judgmental, very nasty, very opinionated, negative.”
“It was like my wedding night,” Rivers laughed.
The “Late Show” host then informed the comedian of rumors that the interview walk-out was merely a “publicity stunt” to promote Rivers’ new book, “Diary of a Mad Diva,” which is currently No. 1 on Amazon’s “Letters & Correspondence” best sellers list.
“Just the opposite because, you know, I’m easy to work with,” Rivers replied. She then complained about losing out on an opportunity to shoot a commercial for Depends, after which Letterman stood, removed his jacket and sauntered off of the set.
Rivers was forced to face the audience and continue the show by herself until the commercial break. She did so by, predictably, conducting a very inappropriate interview with herself that revealed private information the audience surely didn’t want to know.
