Young fans of hearthrob Matt Damon may have even more of a reason to like him now. As GQ mentioned about the talk they had with the actor, he’s got “an unpopular opinion” in that “Damon Prefers Millennials to Generation X,” his own generation.
Damon believes “this generation seems so much more dialed-in than mine,” and praised millennials specifically for their “humanist awareness” compared to Generation Xers. He continued, with an additional note from GQ:

Damon himself is an activist. While at Sundance, which is where he spoke with GQ, he advocated his charity, Water.org. And he had quite the bit to say about the Flint water crisis, as well as similar circumstances around the world. “That’s the reality for 660 million people around the world every day. This is one of the first cases, at least in my mind, where Americans are thinking about the critical importance of clean water,” he mentioned.
He also related it to a generational take on such concerns, and even spoke about end of the world scenarios:
