Liberals try to politicize (and sexualize) Monopoly

The board game Monopoly provides American families the wonderful experience of getting to spend quality time together and fight like hell. The game has a certain quality that’s relatable across all races, faiths, and socio-economic backgrounds — so obviously, liberals have to try to ruin the whole thing by making it political.

Monopoly has a vote online to create a new playing piece to add to the traditional thimble, top hat, and iron. The new choices include a computer, a typewriter, a dinosaur, and clock. However, some people aren’t happy with the 50 options given, especially some liberals who believe an IUD should be an available choice.

Heather Schwedel wrote in Slate on Friday that birth control should be an option. Apparently, sex is really what you want to think of when playing a family game with your grandparents and younger siblings.

“Having an IUD token in the game of Monopoly would solve several longstanding issues. It would emphasize that access to reliable birth control is an important factor that enables people to become real estate magnates in Atlantic City,” Schwedel wrote. “It’s hard to find the capital, time, and energy to buy up property when you or your partner is unexpectedly pregnant or raising a child, you know. Until now, Monopoly has consistently ignored birth control’s contributions to capitalist society.”

She isn’t fixated on just IUDs though. Schwedel insisted that she’d also be open to a condom, birth control pills, or even a vasectomy though it may be too hard to illustrate on a character piece.

It’s unclear why she feels the pieces need to represent real life so much. Certainly, an iron would be more of a simple of a stay-at-home mother than real estate mogul, but it doesn’t matter because it’s just a game.

Hasbro didn’t include a steak, glass of wine, or golf club even though that’s what countless business deals are decided over.

Liberals have been very successful in their ability to push their agenda into almost every fragment of American society. It’s partially why they won the culture war. Still, leave Monopoly alone. It’s a board game about becoming a real estate mogul in Atlantic City, one of the most undesirable places in America right now.

It doesn’t have to make sense or represent real life. Liberals need to stop taking the joy out of non-political activities. I don’t need to have to think about my mother’s exploits any more than she needs to think about mine.
