With “I’m Every Woman” and “A Woman’s Worth” blasting in the background, it was hard to tell whether actress Janine Turner was hosting a sorority party or an awards ceremony. The Holding Her Head High Award event Tuesday night was definitely every single mother’s fantasy.

The “Strong Medicine” and “Northern Exposure” star told Yeas & Nays that she “can’t wait for the first female president” and is working toward a new radio show. She’s looking for a new sitcom project because she “loves to laugh.”

In fact, Turner’s cheerleader-esque laugh created quite a stir during her speech.

“Women in D.C. are a force to be reckoned with!” said Turner, as she presented awards to Reps. Ellen Tauscher, D-Calif., and Kay Granger, R-Texas.

“Maybe you’ll be the next Oprah, Janine!” Tauscher speculated.
