You didn’t expect Rob Dibble to just go away, did you? The ex-Nats broadcaster, speaking on FoxSports.com’s Barfly program, claims Stephen Strasburg‘s father is the one who got him off MASN. Yes, many Nats fans are now penning thank you letters to Mr. Strasburg.
Anyway, after Dibble said on Sirius Radio that Strasburg should “suck it up” and pitch, “his father emailed the [Nationals] owner, and the owner wanted me out of there. … I want Stephen to go on and never have my name brought up and have a great career. It’s sad that people still associate me with him.”

The Nats declined comment regarding his accusation.
Meanwhile, Dibble’s used his best anecdote for Barry Bonds.
“I like Barry personally. He’s never been bad to me and has always been respectful to my wife and I,” he said. “[But] when he was with the Pirates, his teammates would come to Norm Charlton and I and say, ‘We’ll give you a steak dinner if you hit him.’?”
Dibble never did.
