It seems as if the Second Amendments, everyone’s favorite (and only) congressional rock band, is back out on the “road.”
The band — Collin Peterson, D-Minn., on vocals; Kenny Hulshof, R-Mo., on drums; Jon Porter, R-Nev., on keyboards; Dave Weldon, R-Fla., on bass; and Thaddeus McCotter, R-Mich., on lead guitar — gigged Tuesday night at the Blue Jeans Ball at the Wardman Park Marriott, and they’ll play tonight at the Women in Government Relations Annual Spring Gala at Union Station.

Right before they hit the stage, we asked Hulshof what was in the set list. “I have no idea,” he said. “McCotter just calls something out. Even if we’ve never played it.”
Also spotted at the Blue Jeans Ball: Dozens of patrons queuing up at the table Gaffney’s Restaurant had set up, because that’s the spot where Democratic strategist Donna Brazile was slinging crawfish etouffee.
