The White House Correspondents’ weekend is part politics, part press, but primarily party.
So we’d be remiss if we didn’t mention some of the side parties taking place that weekend. David and Katherine Bradley (Atlantic Media Chairman, CityBridge Foundation president, respectively) are hosting a small (75 people) dinner Friday night for National Journal senior editors and executives, Washington media elite and some out-of-town business guests. The theme? “No State Left Behind, an evening inspired by the cuisine of the two forgotten states, Florida and Michigan.” GM is providing transportation for the weekend and will have three special vehicles or concept cars parked in the semicircular driveway at the front of the Bradley home, where guests will gather for the cocktail reception at the start of the evening.

Also that night is People magazine’s bash. Although the deal hasn’t been inked, we hear that the Park at 14th is a likely location. Expect to see potential first daughter Meghan McCain and her fellow Blogettes there. Other guests of People that could make an appearance: Marcia Cross and the Jonas Brothers.
Finally, Tammy Haddad of Haddad Media hosts her 11th annual “Garden Brunch” at her Palisades home on Saturday. Co-hosts include husband Ted Greenberg, Hilary Rosen, Alex Castellanos, Debbie Dingell, David Adler, Kathyrn Leyman and Beth Viola. Expect to see Florida Gov. Charlie Crist, who will no doubt be pestered by everyone for his freshest take on the 2008 presidential election.
