Just because French President Nicolas Sarkozy had a bit of an outburst before a recent television appearance doesn’t mean that his ambassador to the United States has lost any faith in his boss.
We caught up with French Ambassador Pierre Vimont after a speech at the National Press Club on Wednesday and asked for his opinion of the now infamous Web video of Sarkozy snapping at a camera technician for not saying “hello” to Mr. President.

“Everyone has his bad days,” Vimont told us. And we almost caused Vimont to snip like Sarkozy when we asked whether Colette Cova, his rumored girlfriend, might be seen with him in our fair city anytime soon.
After a double take, Vimont just gave us a “I don’t know for the moment.”
How diplomatic, Mr. Ambassador. …
