Bel Air captures the Howard tourney

The Bel Air boys lacrosse team won the Howard High School Karl Wolf Tournament April 8, despite the heavy rain.

The Bobcats won the championship game, 14-7, over North County High School. North County had a 6-1 lead after the first quarter. Bel Air took control in the second quarter and scored 13 of the last 14 goals.

Senior Louie Boyle led Bel Air with four goals and three assists. Jon Matta added three goals and an assist, and Adam Cooper scored two goals and made two assists,

Bel Air won its opening game of the tournament over Annapolis Area Christian School, 11-9. Cooper had six goals in the game for the Bobcats, and Boyle had three scores. Goalie Brandon MacKnew had 12 saves in the cage for Bel Air.

North County started the Karl Wolf Tournament by defeating host Howard High School, 14-9. In the tournament?s consolation game, Annapolis Area Christian beat Howard, 12-7.
