John Vassallo the networks executive producer of lacrosse will be in town this weekend for all the action at M&T Stadium and he told me “We know how important lacrosse is to the people of
Maryland
and we are going to do the Final Four with as much coverage that we would the NCAA Basketball Final Four. There is no better venue or more knowledgeable fans then will get this weekend in Baltimore and with Quint Kessenich who is the John Madden of lacrosse and a local product of Johns Hopkins we know we will have a big audience.”Vassallo on the growth of the sport: “We will have close to 60,000 people at M&T Bank Stadium for the Final Four and the Championship game. It will be done all in HD and now you find lacrosse popping in the mid west, out in
Colorado
and it might just be the fastest growing sport on college campuses nationwide.”
Lacrosse has become the most popular sport on ESPNU.
