In the annals of great Baltimore-area high school lacrosse games, this one will go down as one of the greats. More than 4,800 fans poured into UMBC Stadium Monday night to watch as Loyola pulled off an upset victory, 10-6, over Boys’ Latin in the Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association A Conference final. Loyola junior Steele Stanwick scored four goals and dished out four assists in the win for the Dons, who used a 7-0 run to take a 7-1 halftime leadand never looked back, ending Boys’ Latin’s reign as conference champion. At the same time, the Dons (13-2) snapped the Lakers? nine-game winning streak overall and another streak of 23 straight victories over A Conference foes. Boys? Latin finished at 18-2.
