Manuel Serrano is a Washington guy, he has spent 11 years in the area and has been involved in broadcasting as an executive at WAMU-FM and also with MASN before following his passion for baseball to the Spanish Beisbol Network and now the executive producer of Nationals Baseball on WZHF 1390AM and selected games on WMET 1160AM.
“I was like a kid at Christmas once we got this deal done with the Nationals. I am so happy that the team was willing to work so hard with us expose the game to our large Hispanic community. It also provides a great opportunity for many companies large and small to be part of the Nationals broadcasts at an affordable rate and target the Hispanic community,” said Serrano. “This was not an easy process it took time and hard work from both the key players with the Spanish Beisbol Network and the Nationals but we are here now and we will be part of the community for many years to come,” continued Serriano.
Meanwhile Carlos Guillen is a prominent journalist from
Guillen told me that he was honored to be part of the Nationals broadcasts: “I am very excited about joining the team. I have been with the team for a week now I am living my dream. I spent 8 years as assistant public relations manager for Leones del Caracas BBC one of the top teams in Venezuelan baseball. Doing the color on the Nationals games is a dream come true for me.”
The broadcast team consists of Guillen, play by play man Angel Castillo and Washington Hispanic broadcasting legend Luciano Rodriguez.
