Sizzle

Brett Favre » We know, you are sick of hearing about him. Well get used to it. The Vikings are showing they’re legit and “The Gunslinger” is showing he’s not ready to retire to the farm yet. Barring catastrophe, Minnesota and Favre will be media darlings well into January.

Minnesota Twins » The Twins have a never-say-die attitude and showed it Tuesday night in extra innings. Unfortunately — even if Justin Morneau wasn’t hurt — they move from a joyous night right into a David vs. Goliath matchup with the Yankees.

Fizzle

Detroit Tigers » It’s simple math — you have a three-game lead with four to play. That’s .500 baseball in the final weekend — against the White Sox! You’re supposed to be division winners. And they can’t even use Miggy Cabrera as an excuse — because he hammers baseballs as well as he does shots.

Tony Romo » For all the leadership press Romo’s gotten — he sure hasn’t shown it to us. So far he’s been like A-Rod — very good in the regular season and unable to step up in the postseason. Unfortunately for Romo, the leadership issues are starting to creep into the regular season.
