In her weekly news briefing Thursday, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said her support for equal pay for women might be “because I’m a woman [or] maybe because I’m the highest-paid person on Capitol Hill.”

But she wasn’t done standing up for the fairer sex. As the briefing wore on, she grew impatient that she was taking questions only from men. “Wait a minute. Any women?” she asked.
And again, a few minutes later: “Women, women, any other women? This is equal-pay day, pay-equity day.”
