Washington controls its postseason destiny
The gist » The Freedom (7-7-5) will not only earn a Women’s Pro Soccer postseason berth but clinch third place — and with it, a first-round home playoff game — with a victory over Sky Blue (7-7-5). Washington also is through with a tie, as it will own the tiebreaker with the New Jersey club. The Freedom also could sneak through the playoff back door with a loss, as long as Boston (7-8-4) also loses its regular-season finale against Los Angeles.
