Nats and Padres – Oh the humanity

It’s not exactly Yankees-Red Sox. Major League Baseball’s two worst teams start a three-game series at Nationals Park tonight when the San Diego Padres come to town. Of course, at 37-59 the Padres are still way ahead of the woeful Nats (28-67) in the overall standings.

The Nats have put out their lineup. OF Nyjer Morgan gets the day off today in interim manager Jim Riggleman’s continuing quest to rest his starters. Instead, Willie Harris will bat leadoff and play center. Josh Bard is again at catcher while Alberto Gonzalez is back in the lineup at second base. We’ll see if Nats right-handed pitcher Garrett Mock can bounce back from his shaky start last Sunday. No lineups from San Diego yet. Here’s Washington’s full complement.

W. Harris – 8

C. Guzman – 6

R. Zimmerman – 5

A. Dunn – 7

N. Johnson – 3

J. Willingham – 9

J. Bard – 2

A. Gonzalez – 4

G. Mock – 1
