Moore, Wilson, Till to pursue other options The exodus from the Maryland football team continued Tuesday with the departure of three more players, all redshirt freshmen. Fullback Rahsaan Moore, running back Jeremiah Wilson and safety Titus Till were granted their releases to pursue options at other schools.
Since the end of Maryland’s 2-10 season, six players have left. Since Randy Edsall was hired last January, 18 players with eligibility remaining have departed.

“We appreciate the effort of all three of these young men and wish them nothing but the best in their future endeavors,” Edsall said in a statement.
Junior offensive tackle R.J. Dill, Maryland’s most experienced player with 33 career starts, announced his departure on Monday. Last week, sophomore defensive end David Mackall and sophomore running back D.J. Adams were granted their releases.
The most recent departures weren’t surprising. Moore was listed as the starting fullback in the preseason but lost his job and was suspended indefinitely in October. Till started six games after replacing injured Matt Robinson and ranked seventh on the team in tackles with 47. But he also lost his spot after drawing the ire of Edsall, incurring a personal foul penalty in a November loss to Virginia. Wilson, who was shifted from the defensive backfield in the preseason, appeared in all 12 games but carried only five times for 16 yards.
The departure of 12 players prior to this season depleted a Maryland roster that was further thinned this fall by injuries. The lack of depth was telling as Maryland lost its final eight games — seven by double-digit margins.
With more departures piling up, Edsall will have plenty of scholarships open as the February signing day approaches. Regardless of how many players Edsall attracts, the 2012 Terps will likely face similar depth woes with a roster that will be laden with first-year recruits.
