Teller, known primarily as the silent half of the magic and comedy duo Penn & Teller, is co-directing the Folger Shakespeare Library’s sold-out production of MacBeth. He also designed the show’s many illusions and magic tricks. He gave us his Media Mix last week.

Q: What book are you reading?

I just finished “The Devil and the White City,” about the Columbian Exposition (Chicago World’s Fair of 1893) and Dr. Holmes, the serial killer who set up shop above his drug store nearby to murder tourists. Today I’m starting Ron Rosenbaum’s “The Shakespeare Wars.”

Q: What’s the last movie you saw?

George Romero’s amazing “Diary of the Dead.”

Q: What’s your favorite TV show?

I watch TV series shows only when they come out on DVD, because I can’t stand the suspense of waiting a week to find what happens next.  I like “House, M.D.,” “Six Feet Under,” “Dexter” and “The Simpsons.”

Q: Which Web site do you visit first thing in the morning?

Arts and Letters Daily.

Q: What are you listening to on your iPod?

Some lectures from the 1960s by Ayn Rand. I just finished “Is Atlas Shrugging?” I use Rand to counterbalance the effect of pandering campaign rhetoric.
