I‘m on O’Reillytonight, talking about the Swift Boat Vets and the current attack on McCain’s military service.

The really galling thing about all this is that the press is going to give Obama the identity of “high ground” candidate without pressing him on why his surrogates are launching such sleazy attacks. So far, he’s gotten away with six surrogates/supporters making remarks about McCain’s service without having released a statement from his own mouth. Today, he addressed Clark’s words obliquely, but certainly not in any way sufficient enough to have appeased the press if it had been McCain in the same position.

Can anyone imagine a siuation in which McCain would have gotten away with having six surrogates pull out an argument this specious without the press remarking repeatedly upon the pattern until he had fully renounced all of the statements and apologized for them? Yeah, me neither.
