Tim Hightower won’t treat Saturday like a preseason game. To him it’s much bigger.
Hightower will make his preseason debut after missing the first two games while still recovering from last November’s surgery on his left ACL.
“It’s huge man,” he said. “I don’t even know what to say. I’m sure it will hit me Saturday when I get on the field, all the nerves and all that stuff. It’s a blessing. I’ve been working for this a long time so this is a huge step for me.”
His emotions will be high.
“This is as big a game as I’m going to have. It’s special,” Hightower said. “I think about it every day. I think about it a lot. I’ve had enough time away from it to where you just replay it so much in your head and you try to anticipate what that first carry will be like. I think I’ve replayed it in my head a million times. I’m excited to see how it turns out.”
Despite not having Evan Royster nor Roy Helu available Saturday, Hightower will not start coach Mike Shanahan said.
