He used to be a pet detective, but Jim Carrey and his girlfriend, Jenny McCarthy, are now getting to the bottom of autism. The couple is leading a march from the Washington Monument to the Capitol this morning to promote the “Green Our Vaccines” campaign, which seeks to remove toxins from vaccines and investigate the link between autism and vaccines (McCarthy wrote a book about her autistic son).

Marchers have been warned via e-mail: “DO NOT ask Jenny or Jim to stop for an autograph or picture. You will literally hold up a line of thousands of people. Jenny and Jim will have a huge security staff with them.” As Ace Ventura would say: Allllrighty then …

Then on Thursday, Ricardo Chavira of “Desperate Housewives” will attend a rally at the Capitol with members of Congress and Susan G. Komen for the Cure Chief Executive Officer Hala Moddelmog.

Later that night, Chavira and Gabrielle Union will headline the Nationals’ “Ladies Night” party on the rooftop of Garage B outside the stadium.
