The Nats try to shake off a four-game sweep at the hands of the Chicago Cubs tonight as an 11-game homestand continues. Washington takes on the banged up New York Mets tonight at 7:05 p.m.
Lineups are already out – with one notable ommision. Third baseman Ryan Zimmerman will sit this one out. He had previously missed two games earlier this month after the death of his grandmother. But otherwise, Zimmerman has played in 89 of his club’s 91 games. Don’t know about any injury issue. Could be just a day off – especially since Zimmerman played in the All-Star game in St. Louis last week while his teammates were on a three-day break. Will have more from the stadium when interim manager Jim Riggleman addresses the media later this afternoon.
