The U.S. has imposed tariffs of up to 25 percent on thousands of goods including raw metals and finished products from China, Mexico, Canada, India and the European nations, and those countries have retaliated with tariffs of their own on U.S. products ranging from agricultural products to boats. The Institute for Supply Management, said some of its members have said orders from China had fallen, that steel had become more expensive and that companies have had to take on extra inventory, an added cost, in hope of avoiding pricier raw materials.
