FILE - In this June 14, 2013 file photo, Venezuela's President Nicolas Maduro, right, meets with Venezuela's Archbishop Diego Rafael Padron Sanchez, left and Italian Pietro Parolin, Holy See's representative in Venezuela, at Miraflores presidential palace in Caracas, Venezuela. Padron, speaking in Caracas on Wednesday, April 2, 2014, accused Maduro of attempting to criminalize dissent. Venezuela's organization of Catholic bishops is accusing the government of seeking totalitarian-style rule, comments that potentially could complicate the Vatican's offer to facilitate talks between the socialist government and its opposition. Pope Francis waves as he leaves after his weekly general audience in St. Peter's Square at the Vatican, Wednesday, April 2, 2014. Pope Francis has hailed Pope John Paul II's legacy to Catholic faithful on the 9th anniversary of the Polish-born pontiff's death. A crowd of tens of thousands of tourists and pilgrims, including some from Poland, applauded when Francis recalled during his weekly Wednesday public audience in St. Peter's Square that John Paul died on April 2, 2005, and will soon be made a saint. Francis will lead the sainthood ceremony on April 27 in the square for both John Paul and Pope John XXIII. Francis urged the faithful to prepare for the event by "rekindling the legacy of faith that John Paul left behind." He added that the long-ailing John Paul, who led the church from 1978 until 2005, "even accomplished good with his suffering." (AP Photo/Alessandra Tarantino) News

Lebanese army soldiers deploy in the streets of the Sunni neighborhood of Bab Tabbaneh and the neighboring Jabal Mohsen, which is mostly populated by followers of the Alawite sect, in the northern port city of Tripoli, Lebanon, Wednesday April, 2, 2014. In a rare day of exuberant emotion, weary residents of two warring neighborhoods greeted each other with tears and cheers as hundreds of Lebanese soldiers deployed for the first time in years throughout the area, quelling violence between them that has killed at least 200 people in three years. The Lebanese army deployment in the northern city of Tripoli is the most determined plan yet by the government to bring peace to an area that was teetering into the neighboring Syrian civil war.
