Ankle sprains for Cornelius, Hancock

George Mason guards Andre Cornelius and Luke Hancock left practice today at Patriot Center with ankle injuries. The team is preparing for Friday’s NCAA tournament opener against Villanova. Cornelius limped off with trainer Debi Corbatto. Later, Hancock left with the same injury.

Mason coach Jim Larranaga had scheduled a baseball game at the end of practice. But when addressing the team he said, “Under the circumstances, I don’t want to take any chances.”

At practice, some players had discomfort with new shoes sent to Mason by Nike.

We’ll update the injury situation later.
